Badri In, Tendulkar Out Of ODI Series Against Sri Lanka
The Indian selectors on Monday finally selected Tamil Nadu batsman Subramanium Badrinath for the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Badrinath will replace injured Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar sustained an injury while attempting a catch during the third test match in Colombo against Sri Lanka.
According to the Indian team manager T.C. Mathew, injured Tendulkar would be leaving for India soon.
After not being selected for the CB series in Australia earlier this year, Badrinath himself was more surprised than anyone else by this call.
He said, “I never thought I will be picked in such a manner but suddenly it all feels good.”
He said that he will give his best in the ODI series against the Lankans
Since his debut in India A team, Badri has been very consistent. After having a good Top End Series in Australia, the South Indian batsman recently received the award of Emerging Player tournament Down Under.
After losing the test series 2-1, India will now play a five match ODI series against the Lankans starting in Dambulla on Aug 18.
