Aurobindo arm gets nod from TGA for Tablet Simvastatin

Aurobindo Pharma Aurobindo Pharma, one of the largest API manufacturers in Asia, has informed that it's wholly owned subsidiary Aurobindo Pharma Australia Pty Ltd., has received yet another approval from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Government of Australia for the registration of Simvastatin Tablets 5,10,20,40 & 80mg.

The drug is indicated for patients at high risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) (with or without hypercholesterolemia) and falls under the Cardiovascular (CVS) therapeutic segment.

This is Aurobindo's third approval from TGA, Australia. Earlier in March, the company had received two TGA approvals from the Australian government for its Lisinopril and Sertraline tablets.

Aurobindo Pharma scrip has witnessed a decent rise after getting the TGA nod for Simvastatin tablets. Currently, the stock is trading at Rs 286, up 2%. The counter has clocked a volume of 20,370 shares so far.
