3000 former naxalites to join Chiranjeevi''s party

3000 former naxalites to join Chiranjeevi''s partyHyderabad, Feb 22 (ANI): Around 3000 former naxalites will join the newly formed party Prajarajyam on February 24 in Hyderabad.

The maoists will formally join the party in the presence of Prajarajyam Party (PRP) Chief Chiranjeevi and Yuvarajyam President Pavan Kalyan.

The Marxist Leninist singer Gadar along with other pro-naxal intellectuals and actor Chiranjeevi have been repeatedly trying to mobilise the former rebels and bring them into PRP.

First meeting of the former naxalites was organised in Guntur in December last year attended by over 800 people. The meeting was addressed by senior party leader Dr P Mitra.

Former People''s War activist I Satyanarayana, a native of Guntur, is one of the rebels who is all set to join the PRP.

According to him, even after thousands of people left the extremist movement long ago, they continue to face the hostile attitude of the police and lack of support from the government. Therefore, these former naxalites believe that only PRP can restore a sense of security and peace in their lives.

It was earlier decided that the actor led Prajarajyam party would organise a meeting in each district.

However, due to logistic reasons and lack of time, a state-level meeting is planned in Hyderabad on February 24. (ANI)
