Yet Another Comeback For Ganguly, Included In BCCI Technical Committee
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has, in a welcome decision, taken Sourav Ganguly on board of its Technical Committee, thereby indicating that retiring from Test cricket or ODI was not the end of the road for his links with cricket.
Commenting on Ganguly’s nomination, Ratnakar Shetty (Chief Administrative Officer-BCCI) said, “There was a slot in the committee for a former Test cricketer and the board asked Dada whether he would like to fill in the space, for which Ganguly consented. I think Sourav's addition is a good one and I am sure that he will add more value to the game. He has played 15-16 years of international cricket and his inclusion in the technical committee is a good thing for Indian cricket."
Headed by Sunil Gavaskar, the Technical Committee takes decisions on matters related to cricket and rule changes. The other members of the Technical Committee are: Chetan Chauhan, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Sourav Ganguly, M V Sridhar, Biman Bhattacharjee, Milind Rege, Gyanendra Pandey, V K Ramaswamy and N Srinivasan.
However, the board has yet not specified Ganguly's nature of work.
The former Indian skipper retired from international cricket just after the recently concluded test series against Australia.
