Yamaha Motor sales rise 20% in IndiaThe Indian unit of Japanese Two-wheeler maker, India Yamaha Motor (IYM) reported an increase of 20.50 per cent in total sales during the month of March.

The company said that its sales increased 20.50 per cent to 50,473 units during the month compared to the same month of the previous year. It said in a statement that it had sold a total of 41,886 units in March of 2012. The statement also said that its domestic sales increased 20 per cent to 35,782 units compared to 29,819 units recorded in the same month of the previous year.

India Yamaha Motor recorded an increase of 21.75 per cent in export to a total of 14,691 units in March 2013 compared to 12,067 units earlier. The growth in sales is significant as most rivals recorded a fall in sales during the month of March.

TVS Motor Company has said that its sales fell 8.18 per cent to 1,67,583 units in march 2013 compared to 1,82,527 units sold in the same month of the previous year. The sales in the two-wheeler segment fell from 1,80,274 units in March, 2012 to 1,62,507 units in March 2013.
