A day after its announcement pertaining to the close down of SpotM utility, the internet giant Yahoo has come up with new Micro blogging Platform, Yahoo Meme, in English, in a bid regain its hold in the social networking domain. Meme is said to be a challenge to Twitter, Tumblr and other micro-sharing services.

Yahoo has already successfully launched Meme in other languages such as Spanish and Portuguese. Meme offers added features such as a comment thread underneath the posted content, text, images, videos, music or a mixture of those things and an avatar.

It also offers the facility to add new friends by searching over the Internet. The feature is quite similar to Twitter and Tumblr. The micro-blogging service, however, still requires a lot of effort for it to become a serious challenge to Twitter and Tumblr.

Yahoo has made efforts to find scope in social networking domain, but it kept failing in that portfolio despite repeated attempts. The recently-launched Yahoo 'Know Your Mojo' also failed to attract people; as did the Indian social network, SpotM, which was closed down less than a year after its launch.
