Sensex BSEMarket Round Up - The benchmark indices ended with modest gain after a volatile session snapping a three day losing streak. The Sensex ended up 64 points at 15,074 after swing in the range of 14,864 - 15,218. The Nifty finished 0.7 % higher at 4,471 up 34 points. In the broader markets, the CNX midcap index rose 0.7 % and the BSE smallcap index ended 0.5 % higher. Auto, realty and metal stocks rose today.

Movers & Shakers The BSE auto index surged 3 %. In the auto space, Bharat Forge, Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland surged over 5 % each.

The BSE realty index gained 2.1 %. HDIL up 4.4% and Unitech were up 3.3%.

The metal index was up 2 %. In the metal space, JSPL rose 5 % and Jindal Saw gained 4.7 %.

In the banking space, Axis Bank up 3%, Bank of Baroda up 2.7%, PNB up 2.6% and SBI went up 1%.

Telecom stocks like Bharti Airtel up 2.5%, RCOM UP 0.6% and Idea Cellular gained 1.5%.

Among pharma stocks, Ranbaxy gained 5.5% and Dr. Reddy was up 2.5%.

In the Sensex pack Tata Motors was the top gainer. The stock surged 6.8 % to Rs 428. M&M, Hindalco and Maruti Suzuki were the other main gainers, up more than 3.2 % each.

JP Associates, however, was the biggest loser. The stock fell 2.6 % to Rs 208.

Among the Nifty gainers, Tata Motors (6.7%), Jindal Steel (6.3%), HCL Technologies (5.9%), Ranbaxy Lab (5.6%) and GAIL (4.9%).
