For West Bengal there’s a new zoo authority

For West Bengal there’s a new zoo authorityA zoo agency has been put up in West Bengal to manage the 2 biggest zoos in the state as stated out by an officer. The Alipore Zoological Gardens in the town and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park at Darjeeling shall presently be monitored by the West Bengal State Zoo Authority.

State Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh is the chairman of the authority and senior forest department executives are its members. 'The committee members stated that their initial meeting in Friday at the State Secretariat -Writers' Buildings where it was declared that the presently created agency shall play the role of leading, supervising and monitoring the zoos in the state as stated out by a senior forest department official.

The managing board of the zoo at Alipore and Darjeeling has been liquefied and their actions shall now be done by this authority as stated by the officials.

The private zoos shall not come exactly under the preview of this authorization. If there is any breach of the guidelines put down by the Central Zoo Authority and it shall be authorized to perform against them.
