''We are back to square one,'' says Kejriwal

''We are back to square one,'' says KejriwalNew Delhi, Aug 25 : A day after talks between the government and Team Anna had collapsed, civil society activist Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the situation is back to square one.

"We are back to the position where we were two days when no meetings have taken place. The agreement on procedure which appeared reached yesterday has been withdrawn by them," he said.

"We will decide in a short time whether or not to meet the government today. They are saying they will now draft a new bill. Since they already have our bill, there is nothing to talk about. If they come up with any proposal they can send it to us," he added.

"Yesterday, after the all party meeting, they told us that we couldn''t reach a consensus, so the bill will go through Standing Committee. They informed us that we''ll come with new law or bill in Parliament and you can put your point in that bill," he said.

He further said that Government should produce something concrete in written so we can discuss on that.

Slamming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Kejriwal said: "PM is not worried about Anna''s health, if he is really worried about Anna and country, why doesn''t he send to bill in parliament so a discussion can start.

He also asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to clear its stand on the issue.

"On the issue of CBI, Citizen Charter and lower bureaucracy, BJP must clear his stand," he added.

Talks between the government and Team Anna ended in a deadlock on Wednesday night with the two sides failing to resolve key issues.

The meeting last night was the third meeting between the two sides. (ANI)
