Veteran Filmmaker BR Chopra Died Today
Ace Bollywood filmmaker, Baldev Raj Chopra died today morning at his home in Mumbai.
The legendary filmmaker, who was suffering from prolonged illness, breathed his last at 8:15 a.m. He was 94.
A well-known personality, BR Chopra is known for his noteworthy contribution in the entertainment industry, from films to television soaps.
A winner of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Chopra began his film career under the banner of B R Films with his first movie ‘Naya Daur’ starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjanthimala.
He had produced many blockbuster movies including "Gumrah", "Humraaz", "Dhundh", "Insaaf ka Tarazoo" and "Nikah".
Survived by his son filmmaker Ravi Chopra and two daughters Shashi and Neena, the eminent producer-director was the elder brother of filmmaker Yash Chopra.
Chopra will be cremated at the Juhu Crematorium at 4.30 pm, family sources said.
