Varun Gandhi pays obeisance at Amritsar’s Golden Temple
Amritsar, Aug. 16: Dressed in white, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Varun Gandhi paid obeisance at the Golden Temple here on Sunday.
Recalling his childhood, Varun reminiscenced how he once visited the Golden Temple along with his mother (Maneka Gandhi) to participate in “Kar Sewa” (community service).
Varun’s mother Maneka is the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel T. Singh Anand and Amteshwar Anand. Her husband Sanjay Gandhi was the son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Mentioning about his association with Punjab, Varun said: “There is special place in my heart for Punjab and the people of Punjab.”
Varun revealed that after winning the Lok Sabha elections, he wanted to seek the blessings of the “Darbar Sahib” (Golden Temple).
Varun was accompanied by local BJP leaders including Mohan Lal, Baldev Raj Chawla, chairman of the Punjab’s Water Supply and other local BJP cadre. After a meeting with local leaders at the Amritsar Circuit House, he left for Jalandhar to attend a seminar. (ANI).
