Uttam Galva Steels, a leading producer and exporter of value-added steel, has registered a growth of 13.40% in its net profit, which soars to Rs 46.96 crore in the quarter ended March 2009.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 41.41 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2008.

Further, the company witnessed an increase of 13.60% in its sales to Rs 1113.91 crore in the quarter ended March 2009, as against Rs 980.58 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2008.

For the full year ended March 2009, the company has posted net profit of Rs 100.17 crore, down 19.13%, as against Rs 123.86 crore during the previous year ended March
2008.

However, company's sales grew by 38.53% to Rs 4371.64 crore in the year ended March 2009 as against Rs 3155.84 crore during the previous year ended March 2008.
