U.S. will provide $5 million more for cyclone hit people of Myanmar
Cyclone Nargis took life of 1,40,000 people and rendered 8,00,000 homeless. International agencies are helping people to Myanmar to rebuild their lives.
The U.S. first lady Laura Bush said on Wednesday that Washington plans to provide $5 million more in disaster relief in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis. The United States had already sent about $75 million in relief.
Laura Bush said, "This assistance will support the efforts of nongovernmental organizations like the World Food Program and Save the Children to ensure access to clean water, adequate shelter, basic health services, and other essential needs in the most affected areas."
