US Stocks Gain For Third Straight Session
US stock indices Tuesday marked their closures slightly higher, shedding gains, which pushed the Dow Jones Industrial Average into optimistic zone for 2010.
The modest gains came prior to a highly expected monthly joblessness report and other financial data due out later this week.
The blue-chip Dow surged 2.19 points (0.02%) to 10,405.98. The index ended down just 0.21% for the year.
The broader Standard and Poor's 500 Index gained 2.6 points (0.23%) to 1,118.31.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index surged 7.22 points (0.32%) to 2,280.79.
The US currency dropped against the euro to 73.48 euro cents as compared to 73.68 the previous day.
The dollar fell against the Japanese currency to 88.76 yen as against 89.1 yen on Monday. (With Input from Agencies)
