U.S. markets show little movement on Friday
It has been reported that U. S. markets finished nearly flat on Friday and stocks around the globe were mixed.
The Dow Jones industrial average, by close of trading in New York, added 16.47 points, 0.16 percent, to 10,450.64.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index added 1.47 points, 0.13 percent, to 1,117.51.
Adding 2.64 points or 0.11 percent, the Nasdaq composite index went up to 2,309.80.
The benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell 9/32 to yield 3.225 percent.
It was also reported that the Nikkei 225 index was flat in Japan, dropping 0.04 percent, 4.38, to 9,995.02, and the Shanghai composite index in China fell 1.84 percent. Stocks were higher in Sweden, Italy and France, but down in Germany and Britain.
The pan-European DJ Stoxx 50 index fell 0.01 percent. In Britain, the FTSE 100 index lost 0.06 percent, 3.05 points, to 5,250.84.
From Thursday's $1.2385, the euro rose to $1.2388. The dollar, against the yen, fell to 90.67 yen from Thursday's 90.97 yen. (With Inputs from Agencies)
