UN Secretary General to participate in Vibrant Gujarat Summit
New Delhi, Jan 9 : United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will pay a three-day official visit to India starting January 10 to participate in the 2015 edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, to be held in Gandhinagar.
At the summit, the UN Secretary General will be the guest of honour and the keynote speaker. He is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as visit the Sabarmati Ashram and inaugurate the 10 megawatts Canal -Top Solar Power Plant in Vadodara.
During his visit, Ban Ki-moon is also scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, as well as call on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar.
During his trip, Ban Ki-moon will also deliver the 13th Sapru House Lecture on 'India and the United Nations in a Changing World' at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA). (ANI)
