Two-year-old Falak dies at AIIMS trauma centerTwo-year-old baby girl, Falak, who has suffered intensely in her short life, has died after she suffered a third heart attack on Thursday night.

Falak has undergone five surgeries during the 56 days after she was taken to AIIMS trauma center on 18 January. Her tragic tale shocked the nation when media reports showed the little girl being admitted with severe head injuries, both arms broken and human bite marks on her body.

She suffered the first heart attack on 18 January after she was admitted and suffered from another one on 21 January. Police found in its investigations that the bay girl was a victim of the vicious human trafficking ring. The investigators were able to trace her biological mother, Munni, who herself was a victim of human trafficking.

The 22-year-old mother, Munni was reunited with her three children but her tragedy did not end there. Falak left the world while she was being treated at the national capital.

Dr Deepak Aggarwal, the neurosurgeon at AIIMS trauma center said, "She was doing well over the past few days. The infection was under control and we weaned her off the ventilator. The sudden death due to cardiac arrest is surprising and sad."
