Two Washington state agencies Test Policy of allowing Parents to bring babies to Office

With time, more companies are allowing their workers to bring their children to office. Two Washington state agencies have permitted new parents to bring their children to office. The perfect age of children to get them into office is between six weeks and six months.

State officials said it is a win-win situation for both parents and babies. As per a research, it is important for a parent and infant to remain together in the initial stage of life as it helps develop strong bond. It is also important for healthy brain development of infant.

Other companies have been coming with different policies with regard to the matter. To cite an example, major companies like Virgin Airlines, Netflix, Microsoft and Adobe have been providing longer maternity and paternity leaves.

Kelly Stowe, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health, said that main aim behind the scheme is promote health. The first six month of baby’s life is very important for him as well as for parents to form that strong bond.

Stowe said they are trying to make things easy for working mothers, so they can spend some quality time with their child and also breastfeed their babies. The Washington Traffic Safety Commission is the second agency to test out the scheme.

Jaime Smith, a spokeswoman for Gov. Jay Inslee, said, “It's an enormous benefit to new parents and one the governor absolutely supports”.
