Two swine flu patients die in VietnamHanoi  - Two patients with swine flu died over the weekend in Vietnam, hospital sources confirmed Monday.

A 46-year-old patient died Sunday in the central province of Dak Lak after testing positive for the A(H1N1) flu virus, Dak Lak General Hospital director Bui Tuong Phong.

On Saturday, a 42-year-old man in the central province of Binh Phuoc died after contracting the virus. He suffered from heart disease for three years before contracting the flu, To Duc Sinh, director of the province's preventive health department, said.

The deaths brought the total number of confirmed swine flu deaths in Vietnam to nine since May. Health officials confirmed 6,883 cases of the flu, of which 4,669 had been discharged from hospitals, with the rest still in quarantine. (dpa)
