Two Day Nursing Conference Begins In Mangalore
A two day national nursing conference began at the Conference Hall of the Father Muller Medical College Hospital in Mangalore on Friday.
The convention is being organized under the theme ‘Nurse Educator: Care-Taker to Career Maker’.
While talking on this occasion, Prof S S Prabhudeva, Principal, M S Ramaiah Medical College Bangalore said that with the help of new and modern technologies, the teaching methods in nursing should be updated from time to time. Prabhudeva feels that the whole curriculum of nursing should be reviewed. Besides this, he asked the nurse educators to keep updated in their field.
On the same occasion, Leena Rodrigues, Principal, KIMS, Kasargod said that it was necessary for nursing education to undergo changes rapidly, particularly in teaching methods. She also opined that if we want to improve the quality service of the nursing students then psychology must be included as a subject for them.
Among others who were present on this event were Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, FMCI, Fr Muller College of Nursing principal and the organizing chairperson Sr Jacintha D’Souza, administrator Fr Denis D’Sa and Fr Muller School of Nursing principal Sr Winnifred D'Souza.
The organizing secretary, Sucy George proposed the vote of thanks.
