Tumblr shows faith in Windows Phone 8 with dedicated app
On Tuesday, Tumblr released a dedicated app for Windows Phone 8 app which will enable the Tumblr users to experience the social blogging platform on software giant Microsoft's mobile operating system, complete with live tiles and several other noteworthy features.
The release of Tumblr's official Windows Phone 8 app - which makes the Microsoft mobile OS the last of the leading mobile platforms to have got a Tumblr app - will give the users the opportunity to "post anything from anywhere," including quotes, links, photos, text, chats and videos. Moreover, the app also allows users to browse other Tumblr sites which are followed by them.
The User Interface (UI) of the Tumblr Windows Phone 8 app is quite similar to any other Windows Phone 8 app. The app's support for the lock screen and live tiles of Windows Phone 8 implies that the app will be capable of displaying the latest images from the users' dashboard on their lock screen or Tumblr live tiles.
Tumblr for Windows Phone 8 app - which is free and is now available for Microsoft's mobile OS users - will give the users the advantage of viewing a stream of random, yet curated content. The availability of the Tumblr app for the Windows Phone 8 platform means that Tumblr's apps for mobile operating system have now arrived full force now on iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone 8.
