Jurassic Park contained all the essential DNA of its modern-day offspring, Jurassic World. Director Colin Trevorrow's blockbuster reboot got inspiration from Park in many ways, now it seems the Jurassic World sequel will also do the same. In a recent episode of the Jurassic Cast Podcast, Trevorrow, who is co-writing and executive producing the sequel, said that the follow-up also had its foundation in the 1993 original.

While referring to the black-clad chaos theoretician played by Jeff Goldblum, Trevorrow said that Jurassic World was all based on Ian Malcolm's quote. He said, "It's, 'You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you knew what you had, you patented it, you packaged it, slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you want to sell it". He said for him, that was Jurassic World.

Trevorrow and writing partner Derek Connolly have turned to a line from Park paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill) for Jurassic World 2. Trevorrow paraphrased that dinosaurs and man, who were separated by 65 million years of evolution, have been mixed together.

Furthermore, Trevorrow said that the sequel, which is not going to be called Jurassic World 2, will be a different type of movie. He added that he feels the audience has given them the permission, to a particular extent, to take the movie to the next level.
