Toyota Kirloskar registers over 100% growth in February 2010 salesToyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) announced today that it has more than doubled its sales in February 2010, as compared to the same month last year. The company attributed the rise largely to sales of the Innova, Corolla and Fortuner at 4142, 863 and 972 units respectively.

TKM registered a 101% growth rate selling 5,993 units in the month of February 2010 as compared to the 2,976 units in the same month last year. Cumulative sales for the period Jan-Feb 2010 stood at 11,982 units, recording an increase of 109% over the same period last year. During this time, the Innova, Corolla and Fortuner sold 8278, 1787 and 1875 units respectively.

Commenting on the record sales in February, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, (Marketing) TKM said, "We are very happy to announce our record sales growth for the month of February 2010. Our customers continue to repose their faith in Toyota, which is reflected in our increasing month-on-month sales figures."

As the lo-base effect comes into picture as last February was one of the worst months that the Indian auto industry has seen but the success that the company has enjoyed over the past few month taking cue for the Innova and Fortuner and the upcoming small car Etios will only add to Toyota's brand equity in the country.
