Toyota to invest Rs 3,200 crore in IndiaToyota Motor Corporation (TMC) considers India as a potential market for its new models. It would double its investment in the country in the coming times. TMC has decided to invest Rs 3,200 crore in India. The company has decided to set up a new manufacturing plant at Banglore. It would make the Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKM) site more efficient by increasing its production capacity.

 The company has already decided to invest 35 billion yen (Rs. 1,647 crore) for buildings basic equipment for the second plant. Now, 33 billion yen (Rs. 1,553 crore) would be invested for producing more compatible vehicles.

 Its second plant is being set up near Bidadi in Karnataka. It is likely to start production by 2010. The plant is expected to produce 1.6-lakh vehicles a year. Corolla and other compact vehicles would be produced in the plant.

Japanese auto major would expand its business at various locations across the country by creating more attractive variants. It would put its due share in the economy of the country by creating competitive automobile products.
