Tokyo  - Japanese stocks fell in Monday morning trading.

The Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell 114.73 points, or 1.12 per cent, to stand at 10,142.83.

The broader-based Topix index also lost 6.36 points, or 0.71 per cent, to stand at 894.59.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 90.89-91 yen, down from 91.16-18 yen in late trading Friday.

The euro traded at 1.4892-96 dollars, down from 1.4904-05 dollars, and at 135.37-40 yen, down from 135.87-91 yen. (dpa)
