Three killed as blast rocks north-western Pakistan

Three killed as blast rocks north-western Pakistan Islamabad  - A car bomb exploded near a police station on the outskirts of Pakistan's north-western city of Peshawar Monday morning, killing at least three people, police said.

Police officer Shajehan Khan said more than a dozen people were also wounded when a suspected suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden vehicle in the Badaber area.

It was the latest in series of terrorist attacks in Peshawar in recent weeks after Pakistani troops launched an offensive against the Taliban militants in their stronghold of South Waziristan, located near the Afghan border. (dpa)
