Srinagar, Sep. 12 : Three persons, including a woman and two policemen, died and 15 left wounded when a police vehicle, carrying detenues, was blown off by an improvised explosive device (IED) outside the central jail in Srinagar on Saturday evening.

The death toll may rise, as the targeted vehicle was blown to pieces, a police official said.

According to local policemen, the bomb was possibly hidden in a car but investigations are being carried on.

Meanwhile, pro-Pakistan Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen militant outfit claimed responsibility for the blast. (ANI)
