Thailand's Chapchai sets golf record with 32 under par New Delhi - Thailand's Chapchai Nirat recorded a world record of 32 under par over 72 holes to win the Asian Tour's SAIL Open on Saturday.

Chapchai, 25, finished the fourth round on 67 for the par-72 course at Gurgaon near New Delhi to win his third Asian Tour title.

The previous best mark was 31 under set by South Africa's Ernie Els on a par-73 course at Kapalua, Hawaii in 2003.

Chapchai had set a 36-hole record mark after two successive 62s and followed that up with a 65 in the third round at the Classic Golf Resort.

Chapchai finished the final round with a birdie for a total of 256, 11 strokes ahead of Richard Moir of Australia and Gaganjit Bhullar of India on 267. (dpa)
