Thai police arrest Bahraini man for luring woman into prostitution
Bangkok - Thai police on Wednesday arrested a Bahraini national on charges of human trafficking and luring a woman into prostitution.
Mohamed Ebrahim Yusuf Naserisa, 27, was arrested at the Marine Plaza Hotel in Pattaya, 100 kilometres south-east of Bangkok, Pattaya Police Lieutenant Colonel Wanlop Kangtarathip said.
Bangkok's Children and Women's Protection Police Unit issued an arrest warrant for Naserisa last year after receiving a complaint from a Thai woman that he had lured her into prostitution in Bahrain.
The woman, who was not named, claimed Naserisa had offered her a job in a spa in Bahrain, but the spa turned out to be a brothel.
After she escaped she sought help from the Thai embassy and pressed charges against Naserisa upon her return to Thailand.
Naserisa has denied the charges, police said. (dpa)
