Tendulkar not to play India's Twenty20 matchesMaster blaster Sachin Tendulkar expressed reservation on the referral system in ICC due to lack of conviction and decided to distance himself from India's Twenty20 matches against New Zealand later this month.

Tendulkar said, "I was in Sri Lanka last year when the referral was introduced on an experimental basis. There was an element of uncertainty and I was not convinced."

He decline reports of any pressure from companies regarding product endorsement and said that he has been in excellent relationships with all of the companies he ever worked for. Companies appreciate his skills and contribution in national cricket and see him as a role model for young population of country.

Putting an end to participate in Twenty20 matches for India, he said, "After the England tour in 2007, I felt tired and did not feel 100 per cent fit. My body needed rest and that's the reason I opted out of the ICC Twenty 20 championship in South Africa. In Mumbai Indians's case, I was part of it from the beginning and hence the continuity."
