Washington, Mar 27  A group on the social-networking site calling itself “I Heart Jews” garnered more than 2,000 members until the group’s name was suddenly changed to “Hitler: Great Modern Man of History”.

“It’s disgusting. It’s despicable,” said Facebook user Wendy Erdheim, who had been part of the group.

Other members of the group were similarly shocked. “Is this a joke?” posted one. “Because if it is not I am absolutely appalled.”

Washington, March 26 : A scientist at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has expanded the Hubble Space Telescope’s capability by improving the calibration of its instruments.

Dan Batcheldor and his team improved the calibration of Hubble’s Near-Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer to enable high-precision polarimetry.

Scientists like Batcheldor use this observational technique to read scattered light when investigating active galactic nuclei and for identifying proto-planets around very young stars.

Washington, March 26 : A novel research by scientists has suggested that a new fungus that threatens global wheat production could spread faster than expected.

The research, done by scientists at Oregon State University (OSU) and other institutions, has determined that both plant and human diseases that can travel with the wind have the potential to spread far more rapidly than has been understood.

It concluded that invading diseases do not always progress in an orderly, constant rate.
