TCS signs five-year deal with MAS

TCS-MAS-LOGOThe country's numero uno software vendor Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has bagged a five-year contract from Malaysia Airlines (MAS), a company statement said on Monday.

As per the company, the deal is part of the airlines' IT outsourcing program to make its operations better to enable MAS to deliver great experience to its customers.

Faridal Abdul Rahman, the Chief Information Officer of MAS said in a statement that the contract is in line with BTP2 to use the benefits of IT to boost the company's revenue. "One of the key initiatives includes fine-tuning our IT outsourcing strategy to deliver the required business results at lower cost," he added.

Meanwhile, the company also aims at continuing with its key vendors in order to enhance its service deliveries and stay ahead by meeting business requirements proactively.

Under the contract TCS would carry out the IT infrastructure management for the airlines' data centers, IT networks and IT security. And that would be apart from setting up a rum V3 compliant service management organization under a unique BOT (build, operate and transfer) methodology, the company informed.
