Parliament clears the bill hiking salaries of President, VP, and state Governors

The Parliament has cleared the bill relating to salary hike of President, Vice-President and state Governors. 
Now they will get a three-fold increase in monthly salary.

The President will get Rs 1.50 lakh per month, Vice President Rs 1.25 lakh and Governors Rs 1.10 lakh. (Now its Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 36,000 respectively) 

The revised hike in salary and pension will come into effect from January 1, 2009. 

The President and Vice-President will also get a pension of 50 percent of their salaries.

The bill provides several other facilities for the former Presidents.

‘Sexually Suggestive’ Content Clamped Down By YouTube  It has been announced by YouTube that in its effort to clean up its content, it is clamping down on ‘sexually suggestive’ videos. “The site would be enforcing a stricter standard for mature content and tightening the standard for what is considered sexually suggestive,” said YouTube on its blog.

The users have already been banned from posting pornographic content on the website by YouTube, the Google-owned website.

Plasma Cloak Region Of The Magnetosphere Discovered  The data that resulted from the observations of five different satellites was collected and analyzed by a team of specialists led by Charles Chappell, research professor of physics and director of the Dyer Observatory at Vanderbilt University, who did a new research based on it.

The scientists were able to discover the existence of a previously undetected layer, since the data were related to the composition and behavior of the magnetosphere.

Mr Batho Molomo, the National Coordinator of NACA, said, “Behavior change is the responsibility of individuals and not the community.” adding that the latter could only provide the environment within which to effect behavioral change.
