Twelve Nobel Laureates from all over the world will take part in a week-long science conclave, which is being organized by the ministry of human resource development (MHRD) and the department of science and technology (DST) at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A).

Asia’s first ever science conclave will be held from December 15 to 21.

Actor Nandita Das’s directorial debut Firaaq, which deals with the impact of violence on human psyche and relationships, has won awards in categories of best screenplay/script and the Foreign Correspondents Association award for best movie.

Produced by Percept Picture Company (PPC), Firaaq is an India film presenting sectarian aggression as an experience of common people after communal riots in Gujarat in 2002.

Orissa Crime Branch arrested four more persons on Sunday in connection with the killing of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and four of his aides at his ashram at Jaleshpata on Aug 23.

"Four persons were arrested on Sunday. Some more persons were also detained for questioning" state Inspector General of Police (Crime Branch) Arun Kumar Ray said.

The arrests came just a day before the VHP's ultimatum to the Orissa Govt. to arrest the killers of Swamiji.

The saffron organization has threatened to shut down the state if the culprits were not arrested before 15 December 2008.

Police arrested those four including a hard core Naxalites from the Kotagada area of the tribal dominated district Kandhamal.
