BSE Sensex Comes Off Higher Levels @ 12.59 HrsThe market, which opened positive today, pared most of its earlier gains and come off from its day’s high due to some profit booking.

Metal, realty, consumer durables stocks saw heavy buying interest in today’s session.

BSE Midcap and Smallcap index gained 2.93% and 2.67% respectively.

At 12.59 p.m., the 30-share index Sensex stood at 9.813.00, up 122.93 points, after hitting an intraday high of 9,948.33 and an intraday low of 9,802.39.

Meanwhile the broad based Nifty was trading higher by 42.15 points at 2,963.50 after touching an intraday high of 3,010.30 and an intraday low of 2,917.90.

The total market breadth was positive as it witnessed 1,759 advancements as against 501 declinations.

The major gainers in the 30-share index included Hindalco Industries (7.94%), Grasim Industries (6.66%), Tata Steel (5.76%), Sterlite Industries (India) (5.05%), Mahindra & Mahindra (4.30%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (3.57%).

On the other hand, the losers list included Reliance Communications (2.59%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.12%), Reliance Industries (1.88%), Tata Power Company (0.34%), and ITC (0.06%).
