With the liability position of the deceit-ridden IT company, the Hyderabad-based Satyam Computer Services, looming large on the minds of the prospective bidders, at least three such bidders - L&T CFO YM Deosthalee and director JP Nayak; and Tech Mahindra CEO Vineet Nayyar and president CP Gurnani - separately met the Satyam board on Friday, seeking clarifications on certain issues before their go-ahead with the financial bids.

With their eyes on the forthcoming 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the political parties intend leaving no stone unturned to play up their individual strategies to hook the voters!

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which released its election manifesto on the occasion of Ram Navmi on Friday, pledged to work for the purpose of bringing in 'Ram Rajya' in the country. Unveiling the party manifesto, which included the Ram Temple issue, the BJP prime ministerial candidate, L. K. Advani, said: "Ram Rajya is possible."

The overwhelming response to Tata's Nano can be gauged from the fact that there is an unprecedented customer excitement at the showrooms of car dealers for enquires as well as bookings of the small wonder! People are reportedly flocking the car showrooms to get hold of the booking forms!

However, all the frenzy surrounding Nano has put the dealers in a fix - more so as there is a constriction with regard to the production of the car, and dealers are already at their wits' ends about how to cope with the highly built-up customer demand for the reasonably-priced Nano.

Satyam Computer Services is ready to have a new owner on April 13.

Deepak Parekh, Satyman board member and HDFC Chairman, announced that suitors will now have more time to submit their financial bids for the company.

He said that the financial bids will be opened at 9 am on April 13.

Moreover, the winner will be declared on the same day.

The manufacturer of luxury automobiles and sports cars – Porsche SE is set to expand its operations in India. The Stuttgart, Germany based Porsche is planning to increase its presence in the automobile market in India. 

Porsche, which is known for its Cayenne SUV and sports cars like the 911, Boxster and Cayman, is presently selling its automobiles in India via import route. The company is now planning to expand the number of its dealerships to 11 beyond the present Delhi and Mumbai showrooms. 

On the ragging issue, the Himachal Pradesh administration slapped show cause notices on 40 functionaries of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College at Tanda in Kangra on Thursday.

Mr. Rajeev Bindal, State Health Minister, stated, “Show cause notices have been served on principals, wardens and managers since 2001 when the first case of ragging was reported at the medical college, Tanda. We will not spare the guilty.”
