Nikon planning to expand its retail outlets; launches eight new models of Coolpix cameras

Nikon Coolpix camerasThe manufacturer of cameras and digital imaging products – Nikon India yesterday declared that it is planning to expand the number of its retail stores, to enhance its presence in the Indian Market. The camera maker announced that it will hire around 200 salespersons to beef up its sales force, under its retail expansion plan in India.

Speaking of the expansion plan of the company, Hidehiko Tanaka, the Managing Director of Nikon India, said, "Our expansion plans include increasing our sales force. So, this year we would be hiring around 200 demonstrators."

HP Pavilion dv2 notebookOne of the largest technology companies in the world, Hewlett-Packard (HP) yesterday rolled out its ultra-thin-12.1-inch HP Pavilion dv2 notebook PC in India. The diminutive, “size zero notebook,” the HP Pavilion dv2 is just 1-inch thin and weighs mere 1.64 kgs, less than four pounds.

Speaking of the HP Pavilion dv2 notebook, Diptesh Ghosh, category head, consumer notebook, HP Personal Systems Group (PSG) India said, “This is a perfect notebook meant for consumers who value a mix of mobility, entertainment, and productivity – at a competitive price.”

NTPC reports 5.56% net profit; plans Rs. 17,700 capital expenditure in 2009-10

Reliance Industrial Infrastructure was the best performer on Wednesday. It gained 46% and its Open interest (OI) doubled to 3.5 lakh shares. The stock climbed up 93% in 2 trading sessions.
