London, Jan 21 : Critically acclaimed `Slumdog Millionaire' might be a frontrunner at the Oscars, but director Danny Boyle says that the film's success in India is above the prestigious honour at the moment.

The tale of an 18-year-old Mumbai boy from rags to riches has already won four awards at the Golden Globes, and garnered 11 nominations in Baftas.

Boyle is eager to know the response the film receives in India.

London, Jan 21 : Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson was given a short notice to come to Washington, D. C. for the concert celebrating Barack Obama''s Presidential Inauguration, and still made it to the event for his speech.

And the actor, who delivered a moving speech at the star-studded event on January 18, had to travel to the capital without anywhere to stay.

Jackson has revealed that he was informed about the gig only on January 16, and that he had to rush in from Los Angeles.

London, Jan 21: A dollhouse, believed to have been decorated by Jane Eyre author Charlotte Bronte, is going up for auction.

The little house, which comes complete with its miniature furniture and dolls, is part of a two-day auction of the private collection of antique dealer Roger Warner.

Andrew Waters, Christies' director of private collections and country house sales, has revealed that this is a unique piece of Bronte's.

"I am not aware of any other recorded item that has been decorated by Charlotte Bronte, which gives this piece a unique and charming personal connection with such an iconic figure," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

Washington, Jan 21 (ANI): Welsh actor Michael Sheen has revealed that he was left terrified by Samuel L. Jackson's interrogating tactics on the sets of his new movie, especially when the latter enjoyed it thoroughly.

The two are starring in the upcoming thriller Unthinkable, where Sheen plays the role of a terrorist suspect and Jackson the cop who has to interrogate him.

Sheen, who was shackled and semi-naked during the torture scenes, was left with a lasting physical impression, after Jackson, who became a little too over eager, sliced his finger open.

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia's hardline opposition Islamic party has called for a ban on Grammy award winner and R&B star Rihanna's concert, due to be held in the capital city next month, a party official and news reports said Wednesday.

Rihanna, whose hits include Umbrella and Disturbia, is scheduled to perform in Kuala Lumpur on February 13 as part of her Good Girl Gone Bad world tour.

Washington, Jan 21 : American actor Jamie Foxx has given up his trademark diamond earrings to protest against the use of conflict gems in jewellery.

The Oscar-winner, famous for wearing big stones in each of his ears, has ditched them after learning about the history of jewels mined in warzones and sold to fund conflicts or profit warlords.

"I now wear cubic zirconia. I used to wear real diamonds, but there''s too much issue about blood diamonds," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
