London, Apr 18 : Prince Philip has become the longest serving royal consort in Britain after he took duties in 1952.

The Duke of Edinburgh''s became the consort on February 6, 1952, when his wife Princess Elizabeth was crowned as Queen.

And now, he has surpassed the record of 57 years and 70 days set by Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III.

Known for his aversion to any kind of fuss, the 87-year-old Duke is with the Queen at Windsor Castle this weekend, and has no planned official engagements.

London  - Britain's Prince Philip was Tuesday reported to be furious with forestry workers at Windsor Castle who let a bonfire burn out of control, forcing them to make an emergency call to the fire brigade.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 87, who is Ranger of Windsor Great Park, the large estate and game park surrounding the caste, had asked staff to get rid of a large pile of logs.

London, Nov 3 : Prince Philip, who has a long history of provoking embarrassing moments, found himself in another jiffy after getting caught short on a shooting party.

The 87-year-old royal was leading the party at Sandringham, the Queen’s Norfolk estate, when he undid his trousers and let nature take its course in full public view.

“It was an amazing sight. Those dark glasses didn’t fool anyone and he was caught red-handed with his finger on the trigger,” the Daily Star quoted a passer-by as saying.

“I guess you’ve got to go when you feel the urge – even if you’re a royal.

London, Sept 1 : Queen Elizabeth might be ruling Britain, but when it comes to the Royal family, it is Prince Philip who rules the roost.

It was the Duke of Edinburgh, who decided that Princes Charles, Andrew and Edward would be educated at the Scottish public school Gordonstoun.

The 87-year-old also acted as marriage guidance counsellor to Princess Diana after her split from Charles.

Prince Philip’s frankness has long been appreciated by his grandchildren, which in turn persuaded Prince Harry to promise his grandfather that he would tame his party lifestyle.

London, Aug 7 : After being in the limelight for quite sometime, British Royal Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has now sought a privacy law to protect members of the Royal Family.

Taking a lead from the Max Mosley sex case, the Duke took action over an alleged invasion of privacy related to the family''s personal health, and hopes to prevent the media from reporting details of the royals'' private lives.
