Tom CruiseWashington, Oct 27: Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is doing all that he can do to promote his upcoming flick "Valkyrie", for he has even gone to the length of mollifying Matt Lauer.

The ‘vanilla Sky’ actor is totally desperate to promote the flick so much that he made peace with Matt, with whom he had a bitter moment on NBC''s "Today" about Scientology and the evils of psychiatry.

Tom made a rare appearance at Friday’s Friars Club roast of the "Today" show''s Matt Lauer, and declared that he and Matt were buddies.

It is being predicted that Mark, who cheated on Katona with a hairdresser and a barmaid, may leave her high and dry after taking over her finances.

“Since Kerry was made bankrupt in August, Mark has been in control of her money, which leaves all her friends worried for her future. What happens if he just walks out on her? She will be left high and dry,” British tabloid The Sun quoted a pal as saying.

Melbourne, October 27 : Pictures showing Irish rocker Bono with his arm around two bikini-clad teenagers in St Tropez have been posted on social networking website Facebook complete with diary details.

The 48-year-old U2 star met American fashion student Andrea Feick and her British friend Hannah Emerson, both 19-year-olds, while he was on holiday with long-time friend Simon Carmody, a musician and former member of Irish band Golden Horde.

Feick said that their relationship had never crossed the line beyond friendship.

Kirk Douglas honoured for his humanitarian work

London, Oct 25 : American actor Kirk Douglas was honoured by a host of stars at a dinner in Los Angeles for his humanitarian work.

Present at the Shoah Foundation''s Ambassadors for Humanity dinner was director Steven Spielberg, who established the foundation in 1994 to collect and preserve stories from Holocaust survivors, and who also praised the 91-year-old actor saying he had “saved many lives”.

Douglas and wife have over the past decade funded the construction of 400 playgrounds in LA''s schools.

“Kirk Douglas, in a way, has saved many lives - not just through his art, but through his humanitarian contributions to the planet,” the BBC quoted Spielberg as saying.

He also said that even local artistes should be rewarded for achievements that deserve awards.

In a post on his blog chedet. com on October 23, the ex-premier claimed that it was embarrassing for him to see that a controversy had erupted over Malacca’s decision to confer Shah Rukh with a Datukship.
