India, Pak cannot afford to be engaged in full-fledged conventional war: ExpertLahore, Dec. 14 : India and Pakistan cannot afford to engage themselves in a full-fledged conventional war or even the kind of eyeball-to-eyeball military brinkmanship they engaged in 2001-02, a political and defence analyst has said.

According to Dr Hasan-Askari Rizvi, in the wake of last month''s terror attacks in Mumbai, both countries have to accept that terrorism is a threat to both and that they need to cooperate to deal with it.

Lahore, Dec. 14 : Jihadi leaders, including five belonging to the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa organization, who were placed under preventive detention, will be let off soon if there is no evidence of their involvement in the Mumbai terrorist attacks, the chief of police in Pakistan''s Punjab Province, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shaukat Javed has said.

Javed was quoted by The News as saying that "No activist or worker of the Jamaat-ud-Daawa has been detained because it is not required under the UN Security Council resolution."

Currently on a visit to French capital Paris, Qureshi was quoted by the Daily Times as saying. "If there is evidence (of terrorist activities) we will take action."

Islamabad, Dec. 14 : An editorial in a Pakistani paper has said that both Pakistan and India are currently engaged in a media war that if not stopped, will act as a major obstacle to arriving at any solution to the crisis emanating out of the November 26-29 terror attack in Mumbai.
