Tata Motors in form! Registers higher Sales
It is the era of dominance as Tata Motors plights the sales figure as it gains the number two position. What seemed to be a downward slope in the last two years gave a reason to smile in 2010. Tata Motors sold 31,081 units in January, marking a growth of 48 per cent over the same month last year.
Tata Motors pushed its strong competitor Hyundai to the number three position. Hyundai ticked a sale of 29,601 units in the same month; amidst all these the leader was Maruti Suzuki, which clocked a sale of 81,087 units, which is twice the number of units of Tata Motors sold in domestic market. However Hyundai could score high because of its exports. The Korean automobile maker exported 23,034 units in the month, while Tata Motors sold 582 units overseas only. The above report was elucidated by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
According to Tata officials, the reason being the penultimate position is the Demand Supply ratio. There is a huge demand for the Manza but company is not able to deliver it immediately thereby customers have to wait. Similar to this is the case of Nano, although it is in huge demand but could sell only 4001 units only, the reason being lack of unit availability. The quality , the looks, the performance everything has been geared up but only thing left is manufacturing which will see a new phase (at least for Nano) as the Sanand plant is ready to shoot finished products. Hope to see this Indian Company in the Number one position in the coming month.
