Tata Comm to provide connectivity to Mercedes AMG PetronasIndia's telecommunication services major, Tata Communications has said today that it has entered into an agreement with Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team for offering connectivity for the team on all of the F1 tracks.

According to a new statement released, following the agreement, Tata Communications becomes the 'Official Managed Connectivity Supplier' to the team. The indianfirm said that it will work with Mercedes AMG Petronas to provide high-speed, high quality and secure trackside connectivity through Tata Communications' global network.

It is believed that the team will able to transfer real-time data from its cars at F1 racing tracks to its headquarters at Brackley and Brixworth in the UK at a three times faster rate than present. The faster transmission of data between the team's location and the headquarters will allow it to improve the car's performance quickly.

Team principal, Mercedes AMG Petronas, Ross Brawn said, "We are delighted to have agreed our new team partnership with Tata Communications. The Tata Communications global network will play a key role in the team's performance and our ability to react over the race weekends."
