Tata Is All Set To Quit Singur: CM

Tata Motors is all set to quit Singur. It is disclosed by West Bengal chief minister Tata Is All Set To Quit Singur: CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. The company is facing stiff opposition from Trinmool Congress and other local parties. Trinmool Congress leader Mamta Benergee is demanding 300 acres of land from the total land allotted to TATA Motors. TATA intended to produce world’s cheapest car, Nano, at its Singur plant. 

The state chief minister requested all opposition parties to stop agitation at the project site. He said that the government is doing its best to restore normalcy in the region. Bhattacharjee said that the Nano plant is extremely important for the industrialization of the state. He also appealed to all political parties to let TATA resume work for the larger interest of the state. 

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has rejected the appeal of the chief minister. She warned to renew agitation at the Nano factory site incase of non-implementation of September 7 agreement. She said that 21 political parties are opposing the project for the sake of the poor farmers of the state. Trinamool Congress also held rally at Singur on Sunday to press state government on land back issue.
