Sutherland Global Services acquires Apollo Health Street for Rs 1,000 crore
The U. S.-based business process and technology management services provider Sutherland Global Services has acquire Apollo Health Street Ltd. (AHS) for Rs 1,000 crore.
AHS, the provider of world-class healthcare business services and health information technology-based solutions, is an associate company of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd.
Dilip Vellodi, founder chairman & chief executive of Sutherland Global Services, said their company had been concentrating on healthcare, and making considerable investments in this key vertical for the past few years because healthcare market provides a substantial business in the U. S. and some other parts of the world.
Speaking about the deal, Mr. Vallodi added that Chennai had been the headquarters for the company's Asia-Pacific region; and with the acquisition of Apollo Health Street would now provide it with a base in Hyderabad also.
Apollo Hospitals' Founder Chairman Prathap C. Reddy said they found an ideal partner in Sutherland, which had an excellent track record in providing services, technology and leadership.
Speaking on the topic, Reddy added, "The combined capabilities of both companies will create a compelling value proposition for our clients."
Established in 1986, Sutherland has a work force of more than 30,000 people globally. It has 35 operations centres in the U. S., Jamaica, Mexico, Colombia, the UAE, the Philippines, Egypt, Bulgaria, the U. K., Canada and India.
The transaction is expected to close by February next year.
