Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, a light college drama, won millions of hearts on its The Success Of Jaane Tu Reminds Me Of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Says Aamirreleasing day, and become the largest hits of the year 2008, thus far.

The perfectionist Aamir, whose nephew Imran Khan debuted in the movie said that the film got a superstar opening.

At a press meeting, Aamir, who is also a co-producer of the movie, said, “Jaane Tu... got a response as strong as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (Aamir's debut film). It got an opening which only Shah Rukh (Khan) or Hrithik's films get.”

Aamir along with Imran, actress Genelia D'Souza and director Abbas Tyrewala, stated that the new look of the film and young star cast had made it a genuine hit.

When asked about his creativity towards the film..., Aamir said that Tyrewala was the main creative force behind this most far-famed film.

“The only thing I did for the film is that when Abbas brought me the script I said it is a great script. Go with it,” he said.

But Abbas responded at once and told, “Aamir is being too humble. He gave me various suggestions from time to time which were very useful to me.”

Viewers just enjoyed the movie and praised the newcomer Imran, who is fondly referred as the new chocolate boy of Bollywood.

Sachin Shah, manager, KT Multiplex in suburban Mumbai stated, “The first show of Jaane Tu... was housefull.”

Tenzin, a student said, “It is a peppy young movie, a lot of fun, is very fast and doesn't drag at all. You don't realise how it gets over. Imran is adorable.”

But Imran still has his head firmly on his shoulders and said, “The audience has a lot of expectations from me as I am a star's nephew. So there is huge pressure on me. I'll do my best to live up to the expectations of my fans.”

Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, said that Jaane Tu… received an awe-inspiring reaction at the box office on the day it released.

“The film got a flying start, collecting more than 80 per cent in morning shows and was 100 per cent in noon shows across the country. It's one of the biggest starts of this year. The reports are very good and the film is expected to enjoy a strong, meritorious run in days to come,” Adarsh added up.
