Strong rally in equities on Wall Street push crude oil prices to $77 per barrel
Pushed by a strong rally in equities on Wall Street, crude oil prices reached $77 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on Tuesday.
With all 30 Dow components making gains, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 2.1 percent.
While tech stocks on the Nasdaq composite index rose 2.76 percent, the Standard & Poor's index gained 2.35 percent.
Before settling down to $77 even in recent trading, Crude oil prices reached $77.16 per barrel.
Adding 0.0441 cents, heating oil prices for July delivery went up to $2.07 per gallon.
Reformulated gasoline blend-stock prices gained 0.0436 cents to $2.12 per gallon. .
It has also been reported that natural gas prices added 0.121 cents to $5.127 per million British thermal units.
According to the reports of AAA, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline at the pump fell to $2.696 per gallon on Tuesday from Monday's $2.698. (With Inputs from Agencies)
