Striker Pavlyuchenko seeks Spurs talks

Striker Pavlyuchenko seeks Spurs talksLondon  - Roman Pavlyuchenko will seek talks with Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp after losing his first-team place at White Hart Lane, according to media reports on Thursday.

The Russia forward has not started a game since the first week of March, when he scored in the 4-0 win over Middlesbrough.

"The situation with Roman sitting on the bench is not good," said Pavlyuchenko's agent, Oleg Artemov. "It is my intention to talk to Harry Redknapp."

The 27 year old has struggled to establish himself since his 13.7 million pounds (20.5 million dollars) move from Spartak Moscow, and the return to the club of Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane has only pushed him further down the pecking order.

Pavlyuchenko did, though, come off the bench to score the winner against West Ham United last Saturday.

"When you are on the bench for five games in a row, when the press are getting to you, to come off the bench and score straight away is incredibly important," he said.

"The goal will give me strength for the battle for a place in the team."
