The 30-share benchmark, BSE Sensex, today, has followed up the rising trend on the back of continued purchasing being witnessed across board in pivotal stocks.

All the segments were trading positively at 11.25 a.m.

BSE Sensex was dealing sturdily after making a gain of 309.14 points at 19,899.92. On the other hand, NSE Nifty was trading at 5,946.95, up 99.65 points.

At the same time, the BSE Midcap ascended 1.64% and BSE Smallcap gained 1.88%.

The stock market experienced 1,692 advancements as against 735 declinations.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Auto rose 0.97%, BSE Bankex rose 1.06%, BSE IT rose 0.55%, while BSE Metal rose 2.79%, BSE Realty rose 1.53%.

The major gainers’ at that were Hindalco that climbed 7.30% to Rs 197.00, NTPC arose 3.21% to Rs 244.40 and Reliance Industries rose 2.75% to Rs 2,737.00. Reliance Energy, ONGC, Maruti, L&T, Bajaj Auto and HDFC Bank were other gainers.

There were only two losers’ including Satyam that dropped 0.85% to Rs 460.00 and Grasim, which dunked 0.27% to Rs 3697.00.
