Recently Google pronounced that it is extending its SSL support to its famed Google search operation.
Google, who recently stated this news through an official post, has a past history of providing SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) support for its Gmail and Google Docs products but it appears that this will be the first time where a basic search will get a SSL support.
The SSL connections are popularly termed with the "https" distinction in the address or the "protected" flag that appears in the web browser.
